Meet Laura Torres

My name is Laura Torres, and I have proudly called Playa del Carmen my home since 2007.

Over the past almost 20 years, I have witnessed the incredible growth and transformation of the Riviera Maya. My professional background began in Psychology, which I studied in Veracruz, and later I worked in Human Resources within the hotel industry.

Eventually, my path led me to the tourism sector, where I spent nearly five years working at a diving shop. It was during this time that I truly fell in love with Playa del Carmen and the lifestyle of the Riviera Maya.

In 2014, I founded a marketing agency called Be Social Education, which operated successfully until 2020. Unfortunately, the pandemic forced us to close our doors. However, many of my clients were in the real estate industry, and during those years I helped them increase their visibility, attract more clients, and grow their sales through digital marketing.

In 2023, I decided to take the next step and fully enter the real estate industry, combining my marketing expertise, local knowledge, and passion for helping people find their place in this beautiful region.

Today, I am proud to assist property owners and clients in finding the right tenants and creating successful long-term rental experiences in the Riviera Maya.

Long-Term Rental Proposal & Commission Structure

Below is a transparent overview of the commission structure for long-term rentals.

Assuming a monthly rent of $30,000 MXN:

12-Month Lease

Commission: One full month of rent
$30,000 MXN

6-Month Lease

Commission: Half a month of rent
$15,000 MXN

3-Month Lease

Commission: 10% of the total rental value

Example:
$30,000 × 3 months = $90,000 MXN
10% commission = $9,000 MXN

Short-term rentals (such as three months) can be a great option if you plan to use the property yourself for most of the year and rent it only during certain periods. While long-term rentals are generally more stable, I am happy to manage shorter stays if needed.
